Image Processing Language
The image processing language, developed by ScancoMedical can be used to perform analyses on the structural and mineral properties of bone and other biological tissues. At MOIN-CC, we have developed procedures in the IPL environment that conduct image registration to analyze localized bone turnover from subtraction images. By identifying regions of bone loss and gain, severity of metastatic disease, and response to treatment after estrogen-deficient bone loss can be studied more completely compared to overall changes in bone mineral density.
We also have developed procedures to run micro-finite element analyses, where loading on the bone structure is simulated for a non-invasive assessment of bone strength. The procedures at MOIN-CC include standard compression-tension simulations, as well as customized loading routines.
