Jaime Andrés Peña was born 1980 in Medellín, Colombia.  There, he carried out his secondary education and obtained in December 2004 a Physics Engineering degree from the Universidad Nacional. From October 2005 to March 2008 he attended the International Master Program in Physics at the University of Siegen in Germany where his work under Prof. A.H. Walenta was basically concerned with x-ray imaging and detector physics.  Currently he is pursuing a PhD at the University-Hospital SH in Kiel, Germany. There, his present goals are the study of osteoporosis at the vertebral column by means of Computerized Tomography techniques.
