Mariia Anikeeva was born in 1990 in Orsk, Russia. Mariia studied physics at Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University, which she has finished in 2013 with a Master thesis. The main focus of her first research work was on the spectroscopy studies of Ge/Si-based quantum structures.
Then, Mariia joined a European project funded by the Marie Skłodowska-Curie actions as a Ph.D. student. She had performed optical and electron microscopy investigations of the InGaN/GaN quantum wells grown by molecular beam epitaxy. As a result of this work, she has successfully defended a Ph.D. thesis at the end of 2019.
Dr. Mariia Anikeeva joined the team of MOIN CC in October 2020. Here, her research goal is to investigate Xenon hyperpolarization using spin-exchange optical pumping.
Mariia has also a strong interest in science communications and has working experience as a PR assistant in the Helmholtz-Zentrum Berlin. In her free time, she is doing sports, cycling, and calligraphy.
