Patricia Ulloa was born in 1984 in Concepción, Chile. Patricia studied biomedical engineering at Universidad de Valparaíso - Chile, which she finished in 2008 with the degree "Licenciatura". Her first research work focused on investigating the ossification center in the axial skeleton of formalin-fixed human fetuses using MRI.
Afterward, in 2009, Patricia was awarded a one-year scholarship in the Konrad Zuse program for ICT entrepreneurs with support from Germany's Federal Foreign Office. Between 2010 and 2012, she participated as a scholarship holder of the International Postgraduate Studies in Water Technologies (IPSWaT) in the study program Master in Water Sciences from the University Duisburg-Essen. Her master thesis was in the area of phantom development for 7T MRI. In 2013, she started her Ph.D. studies in diffusion-weighted MRI with a scholarship from the Graduate School for Computing in Medicine and Life Science from the University of Lübeck.
Since 2020, Patricia is part of the MOIN CC team in the UKSH Campus Kiel in the Department of Radiology and Neuroradiology. Here, her research topic is Arterial Spin Labeling MRI and its clinical applications.
