Yu Sun was born in 1984, in Liaoning Province of China. He studied Clinical Medicine and started resident rotations at China Medical University (CMU), and graduated in 2009 with a Master thesis, focusing on post-operative pain management and ligaments reconstruction of the knee joint.
After graduation in 2009, Yu started working in the First Hospital of CMU as a medical doctor. He finished the second round of clinical rotations and training as a chief resident, and began working as an attending surgeon and lecturer in Dept. of Orthopaedics since 2012. He also received training for preclinical evaluation of drugs and devices in China FDA, worked as the secretary at the Association of Sports Medicine in Liaoning Province, and as a visiting scholar at Indiana University and Purdue University Indianapolis, USA, between 2015 and 2016.
Yu joined the Dept. of Pre-Clinical Characterization, Institute of Metallic Biomaterials in Helmholtz-Zentrum Geesthacht (HZG), and started doctoral research in HZG Outstation at MOINCC since 2019. Here, his research topic is multimodal imaging for biomaterials and bone repair.
Yu has a great interest in both lab and evidence-based research of complementary and alternative medicine, especially on palliative care and pain management.
